Yizkor Services

  • Yizkor, a special memorial prayer for the departed, is recited in the synagogue four times a year, following the Torah reading on the last day of Passover, on the second day of Shavuot, on Shemini Atzeret and on Yom Kippur.

Yizkor will be said in the Synagogue on Shmini Atzeret, Tuesday October 14, 2025 at approximately 11:45 a.m.

This year, Yizkor will be on the anniversary of the Oct 7 massacre. It will be recited in memory of the soldiers and all our brothers and sisters massacred in the Holy land this past year.

If you are unable to attend the yizkor service in person, you can submit the names below and yizkor will be said on your behalf.

When we recite Yizkor, we renew and strengthen the connection between us and our loved one, bringing merit to the departed souls, elevating them in their celestial homes.

The main component of Yizkor is our private pledge to give charity in honour of the deceased. By giving charity, we are performing a positive physical deed in this world, something that the departed can no longer do.

This form must be submitted by 10:30 am on Monday October 13, 2025.
